13N 14D – 6 Destinations
We humans have a great yearning to live close to nature and experience its wonders. One night by the woods in one of the glamping lodges would immediately let you experience what it feels like to be close to mother nature. Spend the night in a camp site in the dense of a jungle, a tea plantation, a flowing river or the middle of a rice field with all essentials needed on a holiday.
Take a cool dip in the river nearby or stand under a small waterfall by the forest, listen to the sounds of the birds and other animals of the wild. Try cooking in clay pots over an open fire like Sri Lankans do where there is plenty of firewood and taste the earthiness of food cooked in clay pots.
Discover the hidden wonders of your surroundings while exploring the mountain trails, the wilderness and local neighborhoods and silently listening to mother nature’s call.

Farther off the beaten tourist track, Gal Oya National Park is one of the best preserved and least visited of all of Sri Lanka’s national parks, rich in biodiversity and aquatic life on the lake. Established in 1954, it serves as the main catchment area for Senanayake Samudraya, the largest reservoir in Sri Lanka. The 25,900-hectare park has about 32 species of mammals including elephants, wild boar, deer, jackals, sloth bears, marsh mugger crocodiles and an array of rare exotic birds. One of the aspects that makes this park truly special is that it is the only place where you can take a boat safari in Sri Lanka and, if you are lucky, see the Asian elephant swimming in its natural habitat.
This afternoon you will undertake a Boat Safari to Gal Oya National Park
Enjoy the only experience in Sri Lanka that allows you to spot wildlife from the water. This Boat Safari is made worthwhile and interesting by the presence of many small islands covered with forest and outcrops which are haven to elephants and birds. Often you may see these Elephants grazing happily and freely without any intrusions. If you are lucky, you may even see these mammoths swimming in the lake heading towards an island. The boat safari has many surprises awaiting the bird lovers too. The “Kurulu Dupatha” or the Bird Island is one of the islands that are ‘infested’ with birds and a great many varieties of bird’s swarm there.

After breakfast Straigh to the remot village of Anamaduwa in Sri lanka Rural North -West.
Anamaduwa is an authentic Sri Lankan village surrounded by a vast network of ancient irrigation tanks that, just like natural lakes, attract a variety of bird life and support the locals that live nearby. The village and tanks are flanked by evergreen dry zone forest attracting deer, giant squirrel as well as wild boar
Staying at The Mudhouse will be like stepping back in time to your own Sri Lankan village in the jungle and to a more simple way of life, where things move at your leisurely pace. The majority of the people in the area are farmers and the area is surrounded by acres of paddy fields which are irrigated by the various tanks (lakes). Friday is market day in the nearest town, and traders from across the region converge to create a colourful fair which is well worth a visit. Although the town is moving forward with the times it still retains its old-world charm. Largely untouched by tourism, the region has escaped mass development, and the fact that guidebooks somehow devote so little attention to it is probably a huge blessing
