After breakfast, you can choose whether you spend your day in the hotel or travel further afield to see what Sri Lanka has to offer. Kids love to listen to stories and folk lore. Sri Lanka has its own puppetry popular as a kind of rural drama. Make a drive to Ambalangoda and everyone will like to watch a puppet show where almost life-size puppets thrill and amuse the audiences.

Further up north is Bentota Beach, a stunning vista of golden sand and palm trees that is still quite natural. You could spend your day relaxing there, taking a picnic or perhaps trying the food at the local restaurants there. Return for the sunset with a cocktail in hand at the hotel.

As well as It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. 

Ella today is even recognized as the best tourist place for families in Sri Lanka as there are a lot of activities that children can indulge in at the place and not get bored on the vacation.

After Hotel Breakfast, you will drop off at the train station in Ella. You will be boarded to a train that will take approximately 4 hours up to Nanuoya. Kiddos will love the music of clackety-clack through dark tunnels and the scenic journey passing tea bushes, up and down the misty hills and silvery waterfalls.

Note: seating is unallocated on board the train. The carriages are not air-conditioned it is recommended to bring a bottle of a water and some small snacks

Your private chauffeur will pick you up from the Nanuoya railway station and drive towards to Nuwaraeliya.

You will get to firstly view the iconic Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia from outside and then proceed to town. Once in town, you will be shown one of Sri Lankas oldest post offices. A typical Tudor styled colonial building that stands proud with its red brick exterior. You will then be taken to see other traditional colonial buildings that reflect the British influence during their colonial years. Such buildings would be the HNB Bank, Nuwara Eliya Police Station, St. Xavier’s Church and Nuwara Eliya’s pride, the prestigious colonial masterpiece of the Grand Hotel with its gorgeous manicured lawns from outside.

Check in to Hotel and Afternoon time, make a trip to Gregory Lake where you relax and sample some fresh strawberries and waffles as a family! You and kids all can try pony riding and a boat ride!

After Breakfast you will transfer to Ambewela Farm. It is one of the widest grass fields in Sri Lanka where you can see cattle, pigs, rabbits and more. You can taste dairy products like milk, yogurt and more here, and oversee the process of cheese making and so on. Many locals refer this place as “Mini New Zealand”, because there are lots of with cows, bulls, calves to see in a wide area.

On the way back from Ambewela Farm check out some strawberry gardens and shoot some selfies and photographs with kiddos with the natural beauty of Nuwara Eliya. Not only that, you can see the process of strawberry plucking, packing etc on a visit to strawberry garden on the way. Apart from strawberry, Nuwara Eliya is known for vegetables such as Carrots, Beet-roots, leeks and nookal.

Sri Lanka is synonymous with tea and it’s great for kids to see how it’s grown and produced. En route stop by a tea factory and you will learn the art of Ceylon tea making. Kids will love to watch how big machines do operate. At the end of the session, you get to taste a freshly brewed cup of Tea and we can arrange a tea tasting session for you if further interested.

After Breakfast you will transfer to Kandy. You may visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which houses what is believed to be an ancient relic of Lord Buddha. Offer an oil lamp and flowers to the temple joining the local devotees! This is a fascinating place to teach kids about one of the world’s oldest religions.

After in a quick visit to the market, you can find a lot of seasonal fruits, vegetables and spices. 

Once you done Head towards Kegalle. You will be staying at beautiful Villa which is a high-end Boutique with maximum authenticity in Kegalle in a beautiful location. evening remains unscheduled allowing you to relax with your kids.

This morning visit the Millennium Elephant Foundation where kids can Take a walk with elephants at Millennium Elephant Foundation, a 6 hectare (15 acre) rescue and rehabilitation center dedicated to caring for these majestic creatures. After a stroll with these mighty creatures, help an elephant relax in a refreshing river bath. Picnic lunch will be arranged on the river banks for you to enjoy after the river bath.   

Evening Activity: Surprise your children with a ‘Treasure hunt’. ‘Treasure hunt’ is a fun and interactive activity for children to engage with the natural environment around the property. Hotel staff will scatter the picture cards of the fruit and spices that grow on our trees and bushes in the gardens around the house.

The cards will be placed at the base of the tree/plant and all they have to do is locate each one! With such a large selection of fruit and spices growing around the house, it is a fantastic way for your children to learn more. The Team will of course be happy to help guide younger children around grounds during the hunt. The trees and plants to find include papaya, coffee, lime, pepper, rambutan, jack, coconut, cinnamon, clove, tea, avocado & cardamom. The activity is suitable for children 3-11 and we suggest parents should supervise.

After Breakfast Transfer to Hotel in Colombo.

Colombo is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, so there are more than enough things to enjoy as a family. If the kids love to play, enjoy all that Viharamahadevi Park has to offer – a playground with water fountains to run in, a small train, pony-riding, and an aquarium. While kids are having fun, you could enjoy reading a book or just watch them on a wooden bench shaded with trees.

You can take your children through the extensive library or let them watch a movie or allow them to join in the fun in the playroom. Your little ones will enjoy the experience. In the afternoon take a leisurely walk on Galle Face Green, the ocean-side. On a day with good weather, kids will love to fly colorful kites running, around on the grass. Some yummy ice creams, crunchy potato chips and prawn wadey will add more flavor to the evening.
