Destinations you Touch

DAY 01 | AIRPORT | KANDY

Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be accompanied by the company delegate at the airport lobby and will welcome you and you will be then directed to your hotel in Kandy.

After a rest and refresh, those who wish can visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and the local markets.
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple located in the royal palace complex, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple. Monks of the two chapters of Malwatte and Asgiriya conduct daily worship in the inner chamber of the temple & rituals are performed three times daily: at dawn, at noon and in the evenings. And have a walk around the Central Markets – where we will predominantly find consumable goods like fruits, spices, and local delights.

Or

Visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden. First developed as a pleasure garden under royalty and later harmonized by the British, the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya – today bundled with the most welcoming facilities located just 4 miles off Kandy – is a flourishing national asset in the Wonder of Asia. Walk into this 147-acre bliss of an experience, passing well-tended lawns, pavilions & an octagon conservatory to be greeted by the vast expanse of a magnificently landscaped lush green turf, which will encourage you for an exhilarating break. Towards the north of the entrance rests a cafeteria that one might come across before stepping into some of the highlights – the orchid house & giant Javan fig tree – of this place, which overflow in grace.

DAY 02 | KANDY | RAMBODA | NUWARAELIYA

Once you have enjoyed the relaxed morning you will continue your drive towards Nuwara Eliya, also known as the “Little England” of Sri Lanka because of its quaint British type cottages, set amidst verdant hills.
Sri Lanka’s tea growing center and En route visit a tea factory. During the drive, relish the endless views of tea-carpeted valleys and the bright flash of female “tea pluckers” in their pimento.
Enjoy a guided stroll of Nuwara Eliya town; pass the 18-hole golf course, the colonial members only Hill Club and English styled country homes.

Wake up by 5 am for a quick snack and a fresh cup of coffee or tea and leave for your morning game drive by 5:30 am. Widely acknowledged as the Leopard capital of the world, this game drive is your opportunity to experience 2 more mammals from the big five; The Leopard (Panthera Pardus Kotiya) and the Sloth Bear (Melursus ursinus inornatus). Your tracker will spend quality time with you explaining the habits of the big five and how Sri Lanka’s flora and fauna creates such an amazing vegetation to help nurture and preserve these creatures.

DAY 05 | TALPE | COLOMBO | AIRPORT

OPTIONAL: The south tip of Sri Lanka is the easiest place to see blue whales in a very short time. And especially Mirissa & Weligama areas are the well-known spotting places of the blue whales in the entire world. Sperm whales, right whales, killer whales, whale sharks, turtles, and kinds of dolphins are also spotted in this part of the island all around the year whale watching near Mirissa. It depends on what month you are traveling. November through April is whale watching season. At 6:30 am, we take you whale-watching on a relatively large boat. The boat should return to Mirissa around 12:00 pm.

This morning after breakfast, you will be driven to explore Colombo further.
At the heart of the city is the picturesque Beira Lake, which hosts the Seema Malaka and adjacent Gangaramaya Temples against the backdrop of Colombo’s rising futuristic skyline. Adjacent to this notable monument is the Arcade Independence Square – a restored colonial building that now houses a range of designer brands and exclusive restaurants. A similar outing is found at the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, which used to be exactly what its name states, while ODEL has long been the shopping destination of choice for travelers from around the world.

As all good things must come to an end, your guide will comfortably take you to the international airport in time for your return flight and you will always think of Lanka as the most authentic experience
